I think that's a great idea, just have to make sure you can support all the dynamic parts with off-site apps and tools.
By the by, when is the Civic Hack Day planned for this year?

Rock n' roll. Got the first iteration built on the branch gh-pages
Take a look when you get a chance. There's a lot of copy that needs to be added and sections that need to be moved around and headers/images changed and such.
