Same episode listed multiple times or missing episodes

Recently, the episodes for every show have started to show up multiple times in the list. If I remove one of the duplicate episodes in the list, the entire episode is removed.

DroidShows still uses an old version of TheTVDB API. This worked just fine until recently, but in May 2023, bugs were introduced to that API, which have now been resolved.

  • For some shows, the API included an episode 2 or 3 times
  • For some shows, many episodes or even entire seasons were completely missing from the API results

See README.md for more info.

@syphyr I just got word from TheTVDB devs that these issues should now be resolved.

Some of the corrupt data may still be cached on their servers, so if you update in 1-2 days, not right now, it should all be working again.

confirming yesterday the last few of my damaged shows finally looking okay.

That's a relief, thanks for reporting back!

fyi the server side api issue seems to have returned, backup now before attempting to refresh. i had to restore my 12/30 backup because noticed one of my series was broken the same as last time. i guess time to check status of fork again.

edit: sorry false alarm on my part, after refreshing and spot checks of the others that had trouble last time, it looks like just season numbering conflict of opinion by recent editor of single series at TVDB, my apologies for jumping to conclusions.

Thanks for reporting. I've notified TheTVDB of your findings.

well, this is embarrassing, i took the time to do more troubleshooting and turns out it was a false alarm on my part.

after refreshing and spot checks of the others that had trouble last time, it looks like just season number labeling conflict of opinion by recent editor of single series at TVDB, similar but reversed issue at TMDB, and only TVmaze has the thought finished.

i just erred on the side of precaution in reporting promptly, sorry for hassle.

No problem, thanks for keeping an eye on this. I'll remove my remark in the issue I created at TheTVDB.
