configuration file not loaded

My configuration file keeps disappearing.
I manage my settings with Mackup and I think it has to do with my problem even tough it's been work for ages.
I've recently opened iina and I couldn't find my custom config file (not listed at all) so I created a new and gave it my standrd name for config files but the interface told me I could't create such file as it already existed! It was indeed my config file, it's there but iina can't load it.
My guess is that Mackup create soft links to dropbox and iina somehow is unable to follow the path (why it's been working forever and not now?)
I've removed, cached and app, reisntalled and no solution.
I've removed the settings from Mackup, then restored the setup with Mackup and I managed it make it work once, then I quit the application and I had the same trouble. My config file is there but iina can't see it.

I've make sure to give iina permission to read from full disk and dropbox folder, but still the problem persists.

Edit:
it seems anything I modify in iina settings is not saved at all.
Example: preferences / enable advanced settings / enable logging is tunerned of -> I turn it on, then I quit and this setting is gone back to default (off)
