Ok, this post is a little bit off-brand, but I must write this one down. Here's a short guide on how to fuse chips in the hit 2017 classic, NieR: Automata.

Hi, I love your guide and it's very comprehensive in helping me understand how this mechanism work! One question: why is there a maximum storage cost for each chip? Does it mean that a chip exceeding the maximum storage cost for that level can never be used to fuse a diamond chip? If so how come?
Hi @hamiltonwei, sorry for the late reply. You can fuse a chip that exceeds the theoretical maximum storage cost to a diamond chip, but the resulting chip will be suboptimal (probably a high-cost, low-value chip)
I usually farm suitable chips to fuse my diamond chips with. When I have a high-cost chip, I sell it to traders.
