how to export cropped point cloud as ply file?

in cloudcompare on ubuntu, I only can save it as .bin file format by default.

There is no way to change the type in Ubuntu.

I believe the issue is related to the build of CloudCompare. I faced similar issues when installed using flatpak, but building CloudCompare from source resolved the issue
