We are drafting a Police Law in this document.
Initial Requirements:
- community policing
- checks and balancing
- ability of citizens to effectively seek recourse
- restrictive on the police
- keeping human dignity
Initial Inspirations:
- Police Law of Japan
- Police Code of the Netherlands
Made first draft based on the Police Law of Japan. Adapted it for Liberland purposes, made numerous changes like:
- increasing power of the Congress
- making the organization more straightforward
- making the organization more like that of a company
- making the Police more like a security agency
- creating new instruments of recourse
Gave Police Law for review of several colleagues (JY & representatives), received and worked in their feedback, usually to make the Police more citizen friendly and community based.
Open standing issue:
- what should be the name of the Police? Should it be police or Security Agency?
- problem: Public Security is how communist countries call their police BUT Security Agency is Nozick & Rothbard, classical libertarianism. Feedback required, please give.
