This bug may be similar to #312, but I can't see it fixed with recent git code.
I edit files by opening them (running app with file argument). For quilter - each run adds new tab regardless of whether it's already opened (previously opened docs are restored, which is great feature). It should not open each path more than once. On command to open such file again - better just switch to it.
Quilter is not receiving new updates.
I suggest using Apostrophe since I'm slowly porting Quilter features to there, and it takes time due to the new language (Python)

Really hope the sidebar design makes it over to apostrophe. That aspect looks really cool.
