Compiled version for MacOS? FFMPEG Hardware support?

I don't have the knowledge to compile an app for MacOS but I noticed in the 1.211 release you note "source code for MacOS" would it be possible for you to compile a MacOS version for download?

I'd be happy to pay you something for your time. Trying to sort through over 14tb's of assets and running Parallels on a brand new I9 10-core Hackintosh loses some performance.

Also wondering if it's possible to modify so the FFMPEG calls include an option for Radeon hardware acceleration?

Hey Jason, I’m not the original dev, but I did get it to work on macOS.
I have 800gb of multiply duplicated videos, but even with vidupe it’s a terribly long process, as there is no automated deletion process, you have to manually review each match found and delete one of the two. I had 8000 duplicates found (see #7), and it didn’t take ages for vidupe to find them (so I’m not sure if hardware acceleration would really help, as each file doesn’t require heavy computing. Maybe file read/write to DB in my guess opinion is probably a major part of the time it takes, which is not very long !)

If you’re still interested I can help you out getting it to run on macOS, just tell me. We can wait for @kristiankoskimaki to answer, but I haven’t seen answers from him on other issues so... 🥲

It is an ssd.
It’s a recent, but not highly specked MBP.
You can check out my fork and tell me if it works for you, I found a way to compile and release it !
I’m currently sorting through my own stack of duplicate videos, and I have easily deleted the largest ones, with 200gb already freed 👌

I'm churning through 14TB's. I ended up building a 4TB NVME SSD RAID-0 with 4 1TB Samsung M2's. You can see how fast the read/write is. I was blown away once I got it implemented. I have a Areca 1882X RAID controller running a RAID-0 with 8x Western Digital 7200 512mb Date Center drives which I max out at 2GB/sec when transferring to and from the NVME RAID. I basically have been processing data in blocks of 3.5TB's moving it back and forth thinging it out over and over gain. There's in some cases 18 copies of a single 5gb video. It's been insane. I'm running it all on a new Hackintosh i9 I built with Parallels running with full ram and all 20-cores. I get more performance running the program in a virtual environment than when I setup the system as a test to have native Windows. I added a few "auto delete" options to greatly help with large amounts of duplicates, but I haven't documented them yet 😅
