Set light and dark modes on command

Hey, thank you for creating this theme, I really appreciate it!
This really isn't a bug, but I'm just wondering if there is any way for me to set the theme on command. My plan is to use the system's theme as default but also allow the users to use a toggle to change between light and dark modes, with the preferences stored locally via react's localStorage. I'm not really sure if there is already an existing variable that stores the mode, but if there is, then please do let me know.
