CL-Bible

Update: My focus will mainly be on Clojure Bible Library.

A script written in common lisp for accessing information about the KJV bible.

My intention was to create a tool for me to study bible verses and to practice Common Lisp with more focus on the later.

So far what you can do with is limited, but if you’re intersted to see what the intended v1 will look like then read the TODO section.

Install

Git

$ git clone <repo>

Loading via Slime/Sly

CL-USER> (asdf:load-asd "/absolute/path/to/cl-bible.asd")
         (asdf:load-system :cl-bible)

Run

Preliminary

The first thing recommended is to run the commands below in the REPL, these commands are self-explanitory and are needed to continue.

CL-USER> (SAVE-BIBLE-DATA) ;#> Saves the bible data as needed
(UPDATE-BOOKS-LIST) ;#> Updates the list of books based on data in cache

Main Commands

These main commands are intended to return plaintext data for human readability. These will be another set of commands that return the data in list format for the use of other Lisp programs to be able to read.

(PRINT-ALL-BOOKS) ;#> Prints all the books of the bible in sequential order
(SEARCH-BOOKS book) ;#> TODO Will search for books matching the name and return verse data
(SEARCH-VERSES book verse) ;#> TODO Search for verses based on colon formatted
(SEARCH-KEYWORDS keyword) ;#> TODO Keyword search for verses based on keywords
(SEARCH-BIBLE string) ;#> TODO Searches all of the bible for keywords or books that match and returns relevant data

These are still a work in progress
