Kitchenplan is a small tool to fully automate the installation and configuration of an OSX workstation (or server for that matter) using Chef. But while doing so manually is not a trivial undertaking, Kitchenplan has abstracted away all the hard parts.
chef-osxdefaults
A cookbook, that combines a lot of settings to tweak your osx install. It is based on Mathias Bynens' dotfiles repo but tailored to more general needs.
chef-applications
A cookbook, based on the pivotal_workstation, but without a lot of custom providers and a lot cleaner.

A cookbook that installs bash_it globally and sets your prompt, gitconfigs, inputrc, etc

A cookbook that installs drivers. For now only the Xerox 550 printer

This cookbook installs Homebrew and Homebrew Cask and replaces MacPorts as the default package provider for the package resource on OS X systems. This cookbook is an alternative implementation because the default Opscode cookbook did not work as needed for use in Kitchenplan.
