Suggestion: do some rounds of improvements of the Google Play app description.

Feature request.

I tested the Play store presentation on a non-technical person (but with high IQ :)) and my humble conclusion is that it would be good to do some iterations on the Play store texts.

Can we find someone with pedagogical skills to do the first iteration? Explaining the use and need for "SQRL Login", maybe formulated to be understandable by a 13 year old with English as their second language.

And I guess we have no specific release dates planned, so should be no hurry.

Hi @sesam ,

to me, any and all substantial improvements of the app description but also the in-app help texts and function descriptions would be highly appreciated.

But someone needs to take action. If you are willing to help out, you could for example start a call for help regarding the play store description and/or ther help texts in the SQRL forum. If we go that route, we should make it easy for contributers. We should present the relevant texts right there in the forums for them to work on, without them needing to dig into the Github repo or POEditor to find the relevant texts.

Best regards,
Alex

Just a short note on your forum post, @sesam:

It might be helpful to use the formatting options that the forum provides to help distinguish between your forum posting and the text you want people to work on.

In particular, I would suggest using the
xxx
notation to produce a nice box around the description text.

Best regards,
Alex

Do you think it's time to wrap up the discussion from https://sqrl.grc.com/threads/play-store-description-call-for-suggestions.858/page-2 and implement a change? Does the text go into this git repo? I remember using something automated for an android app project, that could take care of uploading and updating Play store assets and descriptions.

Hi @sesam

All the store descriptions are handled in the POEditor. If you search for 'android_store' you will find them. When the store items are updated and translated I'll update the information during a release, this is a manual process but I don't mind.

Best regards
Daniel
