Absolute markdown links do not work

It seems that there is a difference in how markdown links are handled in the desktop version and in the app.

Example:
foo/Readme.md has a link [my link](/bar/Readme.md). I would expect to navigate to that file, however, the app does not and it attempts to open a file in /foo//bar/Readme.md.
