LiarLiar

Liar, Liar is an interactive iPad interface for triggering sounds and controlling motors simultaneously based on the user's selection. The code involves communication between Processing, Arduino, and the Open Sound Control protocol. The following was implemented as an art installation at UCSC Digital Arts & Research Center to control the robotic noses of Obama and Romney puppets. Matching the truthfulness of their soundbites, the motorized noses would move forward or backward.

Synesthesia

Synesthesia is inspired by the neurological condition that automatically evokes a set of sensory stimulation pathways from another set of sensory stimulation pathways. More specifically, this patch is aimed at interpreting chromesthesia, in which sounds evoke the experience of color. In this patch I have different colorspaces assigned to a specific pitch. The pitch first gets analyzed by the fiddle~ object, and is then subsequently displayed for the user. Whichever colorspace matches the pitch being sung is displayed in that moment.
