Changing theme breaks members

Thank you very much for working on this plugin!

We have just encountered a problem for which I couldn't find any solution nor hint in the issues on this github. We installed a vanilla wordpress (theme Solon), and set up plug-ins "buddypress" and "members" on top of it.

Everything worked fine and we were able to restrict specific buddypress pages only to logged in users. However, when we changed to a different theme (Sauron), the members plugin stopped working. We reverted back to the theme Solon, but to no avail. Re-installing the members plug-in did not help either.

I'm quite new to the WordPress world -- is there maybe a related bug in members already reported? Could you maybe help me and specify which information you would need to make a minimal reproducible report so that we can look what went wrong?

I see that you are busy refactoring the code for the version 3.0.0. In case this is a bug, is there any chance I could give you a hand to fix it in 3.0.0 (as probably no merges are expected to 2.x.x code any more)?

"Stopped working" doesn't tell me much. :)

I'd need to know more details about the issue to even determine whether this is something I'd look into or if it's just a support question that should be handled at ThemeHybrid.com.

Switching themes should have nothing to do with the plugin unless one of the themes is doing something that it perhaps shouldn't be doing.

@justintadlock please apologize for the imprecise issue and let me clarify.

The pages which were previously hidden to non-users became publicly visible after we changed the theme and remained visible after changing back to the original theme (and also after re-installing members plug-in).

I also did not expect the theme to influence members in any possible way. Could you maybe tell me what/how I could log the execution of members so that I can provide you with more details?
