DNS service does not start on Lenovo Tab3 8 (TB-7703F)

Device is Lenovo Tab3 8 (TB-7703F), running Android 6.0.1. Unfortunately I don't think the OS can be upgraded.

The VPN service does not start up. DNS66 notes 'Reconnecting error' and sometimes stops.
Blokada doesn't work either, stops at same point, so I suspect this is a device-specific issue.

Logs are attached.

Is this something anyone's reported before?

Have updated device to Lineage 16, so no longer a problem.
