for gnu make, must respect DESTDIR convention - suggested patch: https://gist.github.com/johnsonjh/6abdfd36446b5ed2a1ddb4329556a164 - likely will rework- ensure DUMA_NO_STRERROR defined for glibc
- explicit CFLAGS+="-U_FORTIFY_SOURCE"
ensure FHS-compliant multiarch installation
