New Folder "dialog" canceled

I accidentally clicked the checkbox to prevent new folder dialogs, and now I cannot create new folders. How can I restore this ability? I reset the settings to default, but that did not seem to work. Thank you.
After rebooting, I'm now able to create new folders.
