Uncheck spelling while typing

There's no way to uncheck spelling while typing :s

Via the menu, edit > spelling, the two options "check spelling" and "check 
spelling as you type" are disabled!

I think you’ll find that these menu items are enabled when you click inside 
an editable text field.
Also it’s probably better/easier to control this via the menu you see when 
you right-click in one of these fields.

This is entirely controlled by Cocoa by default, so should be the same for all 
applications.
