Are you using Create React App? See #115 for how to get it to load the worker properly.
Other than that, you shouldn't run into any interoperability problems, and you should be able to find React examples according to the sort of UI you want, and merge it with Gif.js example code.
What sort of UI do you want? I can help further if you explain thoroughly.
