Realtime API (suggestion)

Are there any plans for a realtime API, such a with WebSockets/HTTP2 Push, to show comments/votes/etc in realtime?
Definitely on my mind. Realistically the backlog of what I need to address is fairly long right now, and the influx of traffic isn't enough to need dynamic frontends, but I definitely want something like this. It'd be great to be able to monitor a post in realtime.
Would 100% welcome any attempts at integrating this!
