markups and grid z-position

I wonder, if it is such a good feature that objects cover grid and markup/margins inside the label-editor.
For example: create a jewel-case-inlay (e.g. template PEARL VM-5513-2). This one has red lines (in the german translation it's Markierungen) that help to distinguish the sides from the back of the inlay. If I add an image as background, this image is above the grid and the markups, even if I use "assign to back".
For this case, the markup/margin-lines should be always on top of all objects. But there might be a case, when someone does not like that. In that case he/she could disable the markups. Or there should be an option to have markup and grid on top or underneeth all objects.
