Ctrl-A selects all everything when focus is in Text object

This is not about CSV or datafields.
My address label has some text fields for sender address and recipient address. My standard operation is to enter a changed recipient address. When I click into the old recipient text and hit ctrl-a in order to select the entire old text, I intend to replace it by typing the new address.
What happens instead is that all objects in the preview become selected. I think that should only happen if no text field has focus.
What do you think?
