shrinking urls help!

Hello,
I'm a happy twidge user but I'd like to ask how to shrink urls I update. I have the shortenurls: yes in config files and one special entry with my login and apikey for bit.ly, but urls are not shrinked.

URLs are only shortened when needed to fit into twitter's limitations. If your URL doesn't have to be shortened, it won't!
