It would be even more awesome if the names of groups and items could be translated through Rails' I18n framework.
I'll look into this in my next sweep. It doesn't seem like it would be that hard. Out of curiosity, are you using Rails 2 or 3?
for most of my project I use 3, but some old projects are still at 2
