It's a web tool to search for images from Unsplash using a keyword. Once a user has find an image which he/she likes then user can set that particular image as the background for the app.

Getting Started

You will need the following tools to run this app:

  1. A web browser (e.g. Google Chrome, Firefox or any other).

  2. Install Node.js from https://nodejs.org/en/. It will also install 'npm' on your computer.

  • To check if you have Node.js installed, run this command in your terminal:
node -v
  • To confirm that you have npm installed you can run this command in your terminal:
npm -v
  1. Install http-server available from https://www.npmjs.com/package/http-server. Run the following command to install it globally.
sudo npm install http-server -g
  1. Get the API credentials i.e. App ID and API Secret Key from Unsplash (unsplash.com).

Running the App

  1. Clone this repo to your local drive.
git clone https://github.com/jabarjung/imagepicker.git
  1. Open Terminal app and cd to the root directory of the app i.e. 'imagepicker' or whatever you have renamed it to.
  2. Run the following command:
http-server -p 3000 (You can choose different port if you want)
  1. Open the browser and go to 'localhost:3000' and it should run the app.
