[Enhancement] Adding posts from the Community tab to the channel's RSS feed

jellyveggie2 opened this issue · comments

Is your enhancement request related to a problem? Please describe.

I'm admittedly not the most savvy person with Youtube and have only just now channels have a Community tab where owners can talk about whatever, like warning viewers there's been technical issues and there won't be any uploads this week.
...So the one time that happened I ended up being left in the dark. Not that many people seem to think to check there without Youtube's own notifications that come from subscribing apparently, having talking to the affected youtuber.

Describe the solution you'd like

I think adding posts from the Community tab to the RSS feed would be neat and would have tipped me off on where to look for info.

Describe alternatives you've considered

Having it in a separate feed so as to not pollute the uploads feed if you don't care for Community announcements and such. Kinda defeats my original point on having it tip me off there was something I could check, but I guess that's just mostly due to my own ignorance of this until now.

Additional context

It's not particularly pressing, as I think you can get those notifications through email if you do have an account and are subscribed? I don't know, I have to check what settings I can fiddle with there.

Invidious currently returns the same feeds as YouTube, it just converts YouTube RSS feeds into Atom feeds. So adding community posts to any of the existing feeds would be a major breaking change, for everyone that relies on the feeds only containing videos (e.g. apps like FreeTube).

Therefore, if they get added, I think it should be in separate community post only feeds.
