Adding a dynamically updating visual for showing number of samples at a given location

At certain zoom levels, we'd like a way to dynamically show number of samples at a given location (current problem: at some scales, it looks like there is only one sample- the user is unable to discern when there are actually an abundance of samples at a single locality).
