Turning off backwards compatibility by default

interduo opened this issue · comments

Newest iredmail on Debian 12.
I got this in /var/log/syslog:

2023-07-31T13:35:18.719382+00:00 poczta postfix[231574]: Postfix is using backwards-compatible default settings
2023-07-31T13:35:18.719632+00:00 poczta postfix[231574]: See http://www.postfix.org/COMPATIBILITY_README.html for details
2023-07-31T13:35:18.719759+00:00 poczta postfix[231574]: To disable backwards compatibility use "postconf compatibility_level=3.6" and "postfix reload"

Is it safe to turn off backwards compatibility?
Maybe it should be turned off by default?

this is just a notice, not a bug

@Anzulo1984 why don't we turn off compatibility mode by default with installer? We don't upgrade postfix from older version.
