mirrors-instructions have outdated / wrong instructions

Here: https://github.com/ipfs/archives/blob/master/tutorials/replicating-large-datasets/mirrors-instructions.md the instructions seem to be very outdated.
ipfs pin PACK-ROOT-HASH will not work. It should be ipfs pin add PACK-ROOT-HASH - but when I do that I get absolutely no feedback and the shell process seems to hang forever...
I just went through and carried out the tutorial, and it pretty much worked - even though the instructions are a year old and the integral ipfs-pack was last pushed on 11 Nov 2017.
Once again, I am bothered by the "scoped help", which made me cycle back and forth between the "mirrors instructions" and the "providers instructions".
I also think that it would be helpful to have an explanation for the ./ipfs-pack folder that is created - because that is not documented here and it is not documented in ipfs-pack. Should I be worried about the 10GB limit? Dunno...
