Linked span in curation-mode not showing

bgittel opened this issue · comments

Describe the bug
In one special case of an annotated span with two linked entities, the curation mode shows the span with only one linked entity. See screenshots please.

Expected behavior
curation mode showing span with entities as annotated

Screenshots
See span in the screenshot: "ich werde nun für meinen Lebtag frei bleiben" and compare to curation mode screenshot

Please complete the following information:

  • Version and build ID: 31.3
  • OS: Linux
  • Browser: Chrome

That indeed looks wrong. Thanks for the report.

@bgittel So let's consider this situation which is similar to yours:

For the purpose of curation (or agreement), the system cannot make a difference between the two SemArg annotations on Columbia University because they are exactly the same (same layer, same position, same feature values). So the curation view conflates these two spans into one. I do presently not see a sensible way to make the two spans distinguishable to the system to prevent it from conflating them.

However, there is currently a bug that causes one of the links to disappear because of the conflation. So in curation, we would see e.g. only the two link, but not the one link. Fixing that bug, the best we can currently get to would be something like this:

Is there a particular reason that you stack the Grimm: eine Königstochter | FIGUR annotation on the same span instead of just having it once and linking it in two roles?
