More permissive license

I see the license is GPL, would you consider relicensing to a more permissive license like MIT?
What are your arguments?
For instance, I'd like to use toot in jpterm to be able to follow users who share notebooks and directly view them, like Observable does. Jpterm is MIT licensed, so currently this would likely mean that I have to relicense it to GPL. There is more background here.
Frankly, I have been considering this recently. :)
