Could we create a new dump of the gpx points?

The "latest" version is from 2013 [1].
Could we create a new dump of the gpx and gps points for [2]?

Thanks.

An updated version would also be appreciated by me since I am in need of a large test data volume for a research project.

I came to this project from the link in [1] where it is written: "If you need an up-to-date OSM GPS planet file, we also recommend another tool from the OSM community." This implies I could dump the planet file myself, right? But how do I connect to the central database?

New try. Any ideas? Wrong repository here? Thanks.

I'd love to see this happen regularly, but I'm not a sysadmin and no longer in OWG, so I can't help.

There is already an issue open on the OWG tracker: openstreetmap/operations#258 - that's the best place to request it to happen.

Left a comment in the other issue. Most likely a fix to address data privacy issues needs to be implemented first.
