Unifi Integration added an entity to existing roku device

mdegat01 opened this issue · comments

The problem

I added the Unifi network integration to my Home Assistant. It created a bunch of device trackers like I expected but it also "created" one device. It didn't actually create this device though, it was my already existing roku device created by the roku integration. Somehow that device is now showing up under both the Unifi integration and the Roku integration. It now has a new device tracker entity in its list of entities that wasn't created by the Roku integration.

Not really sure how that's possible. Or why it only did it for this one device, it's not even the only roku device in my house.

Hey there @Kane610, mind taking a look at this issue as it has been labeled with an integration (unifi) you are listed as a code owner for? Thanks!

I was corrected, seems this is working as expected. I didn't realize device trackers got added to existing devices based on mac address.
