It looks like it's 7 based on your ticks() function, but that's important enough to put up front, IMHO...

It is 7.

I think I'm going to hold off on this, mostly because I don't really want it to be estimated in that way. I mean, the sparkline is oft-criticized for being a graph that has statistical problems with it; expecting someone to try to calculate relative sizes of bars sends the wrong message, I think. I'd rather make it about the trending line rather than any absolute numbers.
