How to use fontawesome char as menu slide icon?

Really like the theme, but I'd love to know how to change the menu slider icon from "F" to fa-bars from fontawesome. I've found its definition in the CSS, but I have no idea if you can use special chars there.
You're going to need to use the escaped UTF value for the FA character.
