Launching Firefox under Linux Mint fails (unless other tabs already open)

Spawning a new tab when Firefox is already running works fine, but a full launch of Firefox triggers a Firefox crash.

This seems to be related to launching Firefox under ⎕SH, with some interplay with WebGL. This is not seen with Windows or MacOS.
