Slippy map displays visual gaps between tiles at certain zoom levels

When we plot the tiled background using smoothed tiles, there can be gaps between them.

A possible solution would be to create a larger pixmap, concatenating the pixmaps for the given viewport, and paint that pixmap instead of the smaller ones.
