Please provide a copy and paste composer.json solution.
I tried for hours now but cant get it to work even though composer did not complain anymore.
Always I end up with 'empty' buttons, and after a correct installation via console drupal tells me there is no library AGAIN.
What am I doing wrong?

The issue is probably that heise/shariff on packagist.org is the backend library, not the library: #198
If you use npm-asset go sure to use the latest dev version of the Drupal module.
