Hi <username>,

you have successfully created an account for the Cuizinart (https://cuiznart.io). The Cuizinart will help you to subset and request data we use and produce in GWF. There are already some products available such as control (ctl) and pseudo-global-warming (pgw) WRF runs over the continental US (conus) and Western Canada (wca). Have a look and let us know if you have suggestions or if it doesn’t work at all.

Your profile has been setup with the following initial password which you should change right after logging in:

	<password>

Please also add the Globus ID to your profile such that you can download the data we process for you. You will also need to install Globus Connect Personal (https://www.globus.org/globus-connect-personal) on your computer.

Please let us know if you have questions!

Best regards,
The GWF data team

GWF aims to position Canada as a global leader in water science for cold regions and will address the strategic needs of the Canadian economy in adapting to change and managing risks of uncertain water futures and extreme events. The GWF-Cuizinart to crop and subset geo-referenced data is developed at the University of Waterloo by Jimmy Lin (https://cs.uwaterloo.ca/~jimmylin/) and Juliane Mai (http://www.civil.uwaterloo.ca/jmai/).

Let's ask users to register/log in with their ORCID id as it unique to them.

Let's ask users to register/log in with their ORCID id as it unique to them.

How would we verify this though?

Probably not- at least not in the initial version. Orchid should also be optional because might be that people register that either don’t have one yet or are not scientists.

I don't see the advantage of using orcids in general: We have their email, why do we need something else?

Bhaleka and I spoke the other day, and we think that the best way to proceed is probably to have the user sign-up with their institution's email, and then at some point we could maybe add something like an optional ORCID field in the profile section that could act as an account identifier if people switch institutions and want to change their email on cuizinart.
