Support not etc/hosts config files,such as sysctl.conf and limits.conf

I need also write configuration parameters to some Linux config files such as sysctl.conf and limits.conf.
Can we add a flag such as --nohosts to disable verification?
I wrote a bash script following the idea of hostctl.Thanks!
