low fps on tx2 is only 0.5

Firstly ,thanks for your work.
I have some questions to consult you,
the first one : When I run your code on tx2 ,I donnot know why FPS is 0.5
the second one : the CPU GPU have low usage

Isn't it due to swap?
Your swap is increasing. SWAP 278/8192MB -> SWAP 305/8192MB

There is no swap volume by default of TX2.
GPU doesn't use swap. But CPU can use swap.
Split model uses GPU and CPU.
Try detach swap volume.

Try running on CPU.

env CUDA_VISIBLE_DEVICES='' python run_objectdetection.py

CPU only can run 6-7FPS.
Normally, TX 2 is running in power save mode. jetson_clocks.sh will change this mode.

If CPU works 6FPS, next, try running on GPU.

python run_objectdetection.py

This runs 26-27FPS.

If works fine, the cause is jetson_clocks.sh.

Larger image sizes will be slow down.
Especially tensorflow 1.7 and 1.8 will be slow.

Hi @naisy I tried as you suggested but I'm still getting around 0.5 FPS on CPU as well as GPU both.
What could be the probable problem/solution?
Edit: When using r1.0 branch I get around 12-13 fps on GPU and around 5 FPS on CPU

Hi @harsh-agar,

Supposing it is not power shortage and not broken, I recommend using tensorflow r1.6.
If you are transferring the screen via the network, fps will be slow. (like ssh -C - Y)
And, the large image size like 1080p will be slow. Use 720p or more small image.

tegrastats will be a clue to problem solving.

you can recompile opencv by https://github.com/jetsonhacks/buildOpenCVTX2
if your version of opencv is below 3.4
opencv 3.3 does not support cuda acceleration.
Just have a try.
