WeeLoader crashes Notification
CyberSpiderPrime opened this issue · comments
I have jailbroken my 'new' iPod Touch 3rd Generation/iOS 5.1.1 per Absinthe (used another method on an older one, that one met a gruesome end under a tire) and installed SBSettings. When I ran this in the past, it ran flawlessly; but when attempting to add it to Notifications, Notifications crashes and sends you back to the home screen.
After some research, the trouble was located, WeeLoader 1.4.4. Disabling it no longer crashes Notifications, but now there is no way to add SBSettings to it. Other methods still work to launch it, just not able to add to the Notification drop down.
Several users have reported this issue over the years, in multiple forums, some not even knowing that WeeLoader was the underlining issue.
When I jailbroke my earlier iPod Touch 3rd Gen, iOS 5.1.1 had become the highest possible version that could be upgraded to; which is why I decided to jailbreak it.
Is it possible to get/install a previous version (possibly before the iOS 7/8 roll outs or even 6)?
It does seem to be possible to download at least some old versions, e.g.:
- http://apt.thebigboss.org/repofiles/cydia/debs2.0/weeloader_1.4-1.deb
- http://apt.thebigboss.org/repofiles/cydia/debs2.0/weeloader_1.4-3.deb
I'm not sure which others are available. http://apt.thebigboss.org/stats.php?dev=all also lists e.g. v1.2-1
but the download link for it doesn't seem to work...
Unfortunately I've been out of the jailbreak scene for many years - I no longer have any jailbroken devices (they were all stolen...), nor do I have the dev tools to compile things etc, and my memory is pretty hazy.
But if you can manage to get terminal access to your device (e.g. using SSH), and to upload those packages to your device (e.g. using scp
), you should be able to install them with something like dpkg -i weeloader_1.1-1.deb
