Can the enable primitive become a fully supported feature?

the enable primitive which is somewhat experimental, not working in all contextes, and so not fully publicised
I checked the manual, and it's still not in there, so I guess it's still experimental?
It can be a very important feature in a lot of situations.
Can it become a fully supported feature?
