files dont work in gmod?

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.using the vtf in gmod?
2.unknown
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
used the prgramme to create a vtf the file was unusable in gmod and the spray 
would not change to it, instead previous spray remained

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
1.3.4 windows 7 64bit
