I came here looking for an answer to the same question. The last commit to this repository was April 29, 2020 (5959e69)

For me, that makes this an inactive project and I'll be moving to https://github.com/hibiken/asynq. But you should use your own judgement as to what "discontinued" or "inactive" mean.

I've since moved to http://github.com/acaloiaro/neoq, which unifies a background job interface in front of memory, postgres, or redis (redis support by way of github.com/hibiken/asynq) queues.
