Feature Request: Automated note creation

Wonderful application! I recently deployed it on the farm to record water dowsing reactions from dowsing rods for an area of over 400 hectares.

It would be wonderful to have an automated method of recording a note at the current position without needing to remove the device from my pocket.

On each survey I start recording a track log.

Every time there is a reaction I have to stop, remove the smartphone from my pocket, open its flip-cover, press the power button, tap the Note add icon, leave the default name "note", choose (the same) custom icon, tap the 'back' icon, close the flip-case, put the device back in my pocket.

With about 1/3 of the survey done I've recorded over 500 reactions (notes).

I export the project to KML each day and overlay it on Earth and try to identify the underground water-courses - primarily I'm in search of drainage and irrigation pipelines.

Being a programmer I can think of several ways to do this but this would be my preferred:

  1. Add an "automation" feature that when enabled will, when one stands still for a user-defined period of time (e.g: 5 seconds), use a chosen template to create a note (or if implemented more generically, other templated objects) at the current location and then play a (user-chosen) sound to notify it has been done.
  2. Create a note template that sets pre-defined text and icon. Potentially use a printf style to insert variable info into the note text (e.g: note index number).
  3. Add an "automation configuration" tab where a template can be chosen (or defined) along with a stand-still duration. This would have an option "Do not trigger at same location unless X seconds has elapsed" and let user set X.

I might be able to tackle this but I primarily work on Linux kernel and core tooling in Debian.
