Debian 8 build stopped working due to pip dependencies blowing up

For such an old OS... should I still maintain support?
... heh, I just went to the EOL page (https://endoflife.software/operating-systems/linux/debian) and found that it's not even supported anymore (LTS was over on June 6, 2020). Therefore I'm going to drop support for Debian 8 now.
