Not able to use with node 16

I am trying to add full calendar with drag and drop but not able to install @fullcalendar/react and without this package I got an error of Please import the top-level fullcalendar lib before attempting to import a plugin.
Please refer to the support page and use Stack Overflow for help. If this is a bug, please supply a runnable, stripped-down demonstration.
