PALO 5.1 - OpenSource MOLAP (www.jedox.com) 

A) List of tools needed for building:

   * SVN Client: subversion or other command line svn client
   * CMake 2.8 or higher (http://www.cmake.org/cmake/resources/software.html)
   
   * VS2010 with SP1 for Windows OS (Vista, 7, 8, Sever 2008, Server 2012)
   * gcc and g++ >= 4.4 for Linux OS

B) Third party libraries needed for building:

   * Boost
   * OpenSSL
   * ICU
   * ZLIB     
   * Google Performance Tools (http://code.google.com/p/gperftools/) needed only
   for Linux build   

C)  Build Palo Server

   * create build directory - mkdir build
   * change directory - cd build
   * run cmake build configuration command: 
   
        cmake -G "[Generator]" ../
        
        - for Linux OS [Generator]=Unix Makefiles
        - for Windows OS [Generator]=Visual Studio 10 or Visual Studio 10 Win64
     
   * optionally choose build configuration you need by setting corresponding 
   flag -DFLAG and rerun cmake: 
     	- to enable/disable bison generated RuleParser add -DENABLE_USE_BISON={ON|
       OFF}
     	- to enable/disable flex gererated RuleScanner add -DENABLE_USE_FLEX={ON|
       OFF}
     	- to enable/disable gperf generated PaloCommands add -DENABLE_USE_GPERF={
       ON|OFF}
   * start build process with:
        - call make command for Linux OS or
        - devenv palo.sln /build Release /project palo for Windows OS
        - you can open palo.sln solution file in VS 2010 start build process too
        - REMEMBER all changes you make in VS 2010 solution file or project 
        files 
          would be rewritten by next invoke of cmake configuration script 
          
HOWTO start palo

	* start palo (Windows)
	     palo.exe -h 127.0.0.1 7777 -d <PATH_TO_DATA_DIRECTORY>
	  or (Linux)
	     ./palo  -h 127.0.0.1 7777 -d <PATH_TO_DATA_DIRECTORY>
    * replace "<PATH_TO_DATA_DIRECTORY>" with path to where you want you data to
      be stored
    * see palo --help for more options
